LASER APPLICATION FOR PHIMOSIS

Abstract

|
Phimosis is a condition of redundant foreskin of the penis. This condition predisposes to difficulty secondary to poor hygiene, infection and cancer of the glans penis. Circumcision is still not widely performed during the neonatal period. Circumcision can be done when medically indicated or requested electively by the family. At the timing of the operation psychologic implication should be considered. The author recently treated 30 Cases of phimosis including foreign body granuloma using by CO2 laser(NIIC) modality successfully. Advantages of this laser circumcision are minimal bleeding, saving operation healing time and minimal postoperative pain. Disadvantages are the associated expences : equipment purchase and installation.
